Art is more than just what an artist can create. For artist Nicole Chong, it is a journey of discovery. In her formative years, Nicole studied with painter Jennifer Austin-Jennings and photographer Randy Jennings for many years with a foundation in drawing and painting. A graduate of Tufts University’s School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston Nicole explores the relationships and underlying inspirations of herself and her surroundings through photographs, collages, and glasswork. Some of her mentors and instructors included Barbara Dowling, Amber Tourlentes, Bonnie Donohue, and Carl Sesto.
Nicole’s photographs are searching for the meaning of femininity through images of women, landscape and within herself.
In 2011, Nicole earned an Associates Degree in Applied Science for Business Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Leadership, learning the skills to develop businesses to help other artists promote themselves and begin her own arts organizations..
Continuing her quest, Nicole graduated with a Master's Degree in Art Business from Sotheby's Institute of Art, NY in 2013 gaining a foundation in art and copyright law, auction house and museum practices, and the increase of art as a commodity. Her Master's Thesis focused on the pivotal role of nonprofit community arts in the city of Denver, uniting residents and the creative workforce in the development of a culturally vibrant city.
Nicole currently resides in the Metro Denver Area. She enjoys exploring the mountains with her camera, making jewelry and is exploring other mixed media projects.
